In the latest issue of Nature, section ‘News’, Emma Young discusses the recent publication by Lázaro et al. (2017) concerning the Dehenl phenomenon in the common shrew (Sorex araneus). On this occasion the author invokes the opinions and findings of Leszek Rychlik, PhD student Paweł Kardynia (Department of Systematic Zoology) and co-authors, Jan J. R. Taylor (University of Białystok) and Sara Churchfield (King’s College London) investigating this phenomenon on several species of shrews.
